Main Aloe Cultivation Areas

The aloe vera main commercial cultivation areas at worldwide level are the United States, Mexico, Venezuela, Dominican Rep., Thailand, China, India and Australia.

The main areas of aloe vera gel production are the states of Texas and Louisiana in the United States, the state of Falcon in Venezuela, Tamaulipas and San Luis Potosi in Mexico, Dominican Rep., Curaçao, Israel, South Africa, China, Thailand, India and Australia. Aloe bitter sap or aloe gum is produced in the Caribbean, Venezuela, South Africa, Zimbabwe, India and China.

In Latin America are found some areas of production but in smaller scale of aloe vera in Guatemala, Honduras, Cuba, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador and Chile. In Uruguay one is a great plantation and processors of aloe arborescens.

In Argentina, the main producing zones are in the province of Cordoba and Santa Fe. The main cultivated variety is the aloe saponaria, followed by aloe vera and small areas for the aloe arborescens. Other producing provinces but with smaller volume are Formosa, Chaco, Entre Rios, Corrientes, Tucumán, Misiones and Buenos Aires.
